Rather than the DC conversion, i will continue with AC to the VFD, and AC to the logic and steppers via my Camper 100A PSU set to 12V even, and with a DC-to-DC converter for 12v to 48v added, so the machine will have one 240Vac connection and one 120Vac connection, so i can separate the VFD...- travis_farmer

perhaps as an enclosure, i can use the big ATX case. it is fit and ready for the PSU, and if i use a 3v3 to 5v I2C module rather than the isolation module, i should be fine to run everything in the same enclosure, with exception to the SSR modules for AC power. those can be in the rack-mount...- travis_farmer

I have solved how not to have smoke detectors in my shop. due to dust and laser smoke, they would go off all the time. but i can use a temperature alarm! if the temp rises above, say 130F, set off the alarm!- travis_farmer
