    My 48" X 48" CNC Router Table

Actually, i may continue as planned with the DC conversion. the benefit will be that i can run the CNC, other than the VFD/spindle, off of battery in the event of a power failure. and after the conversion from 12V to 24V relays, i can do away with most of the 12V load, leaving just the laser. as...

    My Shop Notes

i ordered a Emporia Vue2 kit, for monitoring the power usage in my shop. i should be able to track for cost of electricity with it, or at least that is the idea. but i will need a larger power panel, like this: Square D Homeline 100 Amp 24-Space 48-Circuit Indoor Main Breaker Plug-On Neutral...

    My 48" X 48" CNC Router Table

Rather than the DC conversion, i will continue with AC to the VFD, and AC to the logic and steppers via my Camper 100A PSU set to 12V even, and with a DC-to-DC converter for 12v to 48v added, so the machine will have one 240Vac connection and one 120Vac connection, so i can separate the VFD...

    Arduino/MQTT Home Assistant workshop controller

it could be possible to setup a remote reset for the HA MQTT controller. i could setup a output on the Konnected Alarm panel, that seems to be reliable, and have it drive a optoisolator that pulls a reset on the controller Arduino. i do rely on the HVAC variables for the fire alarm system, so it...

    Arduino/MQTT Home Assistant workshop controller

perhaps as an enclosure, i can use the big ATX case. it is fit and ready for the PSU, and if i use a 3v3 to 5v I2C module rather than the isolation module, i should be fine to run everything in the same enclosure, with exception to the SSR modules for AC power. those can be in the rack-mount...

    Arduino/MQTT Home Assistant workshop controller

Switched to the Giga, from a Mega2560, to gain performance, and so far, i have! it is 3.3v core, but i am going to use a isolation system to help isolate power controls from the MCU. Adafruit has this: https://www.adafruit.com/product/4903 it is a bi-directional I2C isolation board. in theory...

I am not receiving any E-mails from the forum?

Plugged away at this again, and discovered my DKIM milter was not processing correctly, and was not actualy adding the DKIM to the message. now it is, but gmail comes back with the PTR record requirement... they make it hard for a legitimate small business to operate, so my solution is this. if...

    Arduino/MQTT Home Assistant workshop controller

i have a Power Flow card (Power Flow Card Plus) working now, so when i get everything setup, i will know how much power is being used, and where (with limited "where"). Here it shows the battery charging from the grid. and here it is being used by the load (equipment). with enough sensors...

What my Autism is to me

Sometimes i have to wonder... and then it makes perfect sense, why i have zero friends... i realized how annoying i must be to everybody.

    My 48" X 48" CNC Router Table

Ordered some bigger drag-chains for the machine wiring and air tubes, so no more zip-tied to the outside of the too-small chains. next will be figuring out how to mount them. on the X and Y axis, i need to make some chain trays to support the chains. can be done with just aluminum trim-coil. the...

    Arduino/MQTT Home Assistant workshop controller

there is a way to have switches, with only one switch and the SSR, but it requires a transistor, and two resistors for every switch, but it can be done with a central switch panel. ...or i can have a separate board in the case for the switching to take place. then i only need 3 wires. for the...

    My 48" X 48" CNC Router Table

thinking of moving the tool sensor to the back of the machine, out of the way, leaving tool slot #1 open for manual changes, and keeping the tool sensor safe and out of the way. i want to put it in a spot where the laser can also use it, to make sure it stays in focus. i can measure the laser...

    My 48" X 48" CNC Router Table

for on-machine cable looming, i am going to try cable lacing. it looks easy, and has a neat and clean appearance when done. only places i have to worry about are up on the Z axis, along the X axis, and the tail off the Y axis. i can loom other exposed wires too. like the wires leading to the...

    Arduino/MQTT Home Assistant workshop controller

Re-working the controller, using the code scavenged from what was my MQTT Camper controller, as it is better. https://github.com/travis-farmer/ardmega_camper_MQTT now supports dual temp settings for the equipment closet. that way i can set the heat to 40F as shown, and the cooling fan at 75F...

    My Shop Notes

I have solved how not to have smoke detectors in my shop. due to dust and laser smoke, they would go off all the time. but i can use a temperature alarm! if the temp rises above, say 130F, set off the alarm!
